Sapana Village Social Impact & Green Food Foundation

Two of our experts conducted an assessment of the situation on behalf of the local NGO Sapana Village Social Impact (SVSI). The findings were deeply concerning. Rarely have we at the Green Food Foundation encountered such a severe nutritional crisis. The issue is highly complex and multifaceted.

To illustrate: children receive a school lunch that is nutritionally very limited. At home, they often get little to no food. The following morning, there is typically no breakfast, so they must wait until the next school lunch to eat again. It doesn’t take much imagination to understand the impact this has on their learning performance.

In this case, we advised the NGO on how to improve the nutritional value of the school lunch without increasing the cost. The lunch now includes more protein and essential nutrients, using locally available ingredients. This intervention has already been implemented.

Furthermore, children will now receive breakfast as soon as they arrive at school. These are simple changes, but they create a significant impact.

We strongly value scientific, evidence-based approaches. We share this knowledge with the local NGO on multiple levels to ensure that everyone involved understands the issues and the direction in which solutions are being developed.

We want to emphasize that this is a collaborative effort with the local NGO SVSI. They are the owners of the project. Our role is to provide advice, training, and ongoing support.
